Summary:

This plan is designed for small businesses who require basic high-speed Internet connections for one computer at a single location over a business telephone line. If you are interested in a simple connection, without all of the extra features like a custom Web site, dedicated domain or network router and modem equipment then this plan is for you. This plan can be upgraded easily to include those extras, see the prices below. This is our most basic business plan, and does not include the DSL modem, switch or router, or on-site installation (for DSL) in the base price.

Included:

The following features are part of this plan.

• 5 Mailboxes @govital.net
  You can access 5 mailboxes, each with a 50 MB size limit, from a Web browser or from a mail reading program that supports POP mail retrieval.
• Provisioning of DSL Line or 2.4 GHz Subscriber Unit
  Depending on your location, you will be serviced through ADSL over your telephone line or via 2.4 GHz radio link. Check for DSL Availability.
• Usenet News Feed
  You can read articles from thousands of Usenet news groups.
• Dynamic IP Address
  The network router will be assigned a unique IP (Internet) Address upon connection, but this address may change between connections, and cannot be used to configure permanent Internet server applications at the customer site.
• Installation Assistance
  A govital technician will assist you over the telephone, and provide necessary configuration information for your DSL modem. If the connection is provisioned over a fixed-point wireless link, govital will install the antenna and access point, but the customer is responsible for connecting to the the access point and configuring the access software.

Options:

The following options can be provisioned separately to make your connection more powerful.

• The rental of a basic one computer DSL modem is included.
• A NAT router to provide basic firewall services and 4 ports for computer connections can be purchased for $39.95.
• A NAT router to provide basic firewall services and 4 ports for computer connections and with wireless networking access point can be purchased for $79.95.
• Access to the authenticated SMTP relay server which allows you to send outgoingmail from a non-govital connection is an extra $4.99 per month. This is useful for travellers who frequent hotspots with mobile computers.
• $16.95/month additional: Domain Name Service, Domain Name Registration and Web Hosting (2 GB monthly transfer limit)
• $24.99/month additional: One static IP address, which means that your computers will always have the same address so you can run applications like on-line video conferences more easily.
• $3.99/month additional: Enabling the MySQL database system for your hosted Web site. This will allow you to combine the power of the programming tools in our Web server with a back-end database to store data and build more a more sophisticated Web site.
• $149.99/year additional: Creation and registration of an SSL (Secure Socket Layer) certificate for your Web site. This allows you to easily encrypt transmissions going in and out of your Web site so that you can handle sensitive information over the Internet with more protection.

Some additional things to consider

• Modems, firewalls, antennae and subscriber units remain the property of govital internet inc. and must be returned upon termination of service.
• The network services are monitored 24/7, but technical support on this plan is only provided during regular business hours.
• This plan is subject to availability. You must either be in Bell Nexxia DSL service area or within 1 kilometre of a govital POP. Call to verify.
• You will be charged extra in case your premise has characteristics that make the installation of network cables, LAN devices, or a rooftop antenna difficult. Firm pricing will be provided on a quote form after we perform a site visit to make an assessment.
• Contract details, terms and limitations will be provided and agreed upon before installation and service begin.
